The first and most important help for young children is that we adults understand Lent and enter into it ourselves with devotion and joy. If Lent makes its way into our home, conversations, and practices that children take part in, they will grow up embracing Lent as a season of grace. Consider Lent as a time to fast from temptations and feast on opportunities. Remember these opportunities - or new disciplines to be healthy, faithful, committed in your life - are choices that you hopefully will want to keep after Easter.
