Uniting Communities and Transforming Lives
Hosted by the UU Urban Ministry and the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center
2:00 - 4:30 PM, First Church in Roxbury, 10 Putnam Street
- This event will start at the First Church in Roxbury, founded in 1632. We'll explore the meetinghourse, climb up to the steeple, ring the Revere bell, and participate in a scavenger hung to learn the history of a congregation that helped establish Harvard College, founded Roxbury Latin School and played an important role in the Revolution.
- We will then walk down the hill to tour the Islamic Society of Boston Cultural Center, the largest mosque in New England and a dynamic cultural center. We will learn about Islam and the Boston Buslim community and discuss how we can all foster interfaith dialogue.
